Control which products require age verification and set per-product or per-category minimum ages.

Three-tier age resolution
The plugin resolves the required minimum age for each cart item in priority order:
- Product-level override — if the product has an age override set, that is always used
- Category-level age — if the product belongs to one or more gated categories, the highest category age is used
- Store-wide default — the Required Age from Configuration is the fallback
The most specific setting always wins.
Example
A product in the Spirits category (gated, 18+) that also has a product-level override of 21 will require a verified age of 21 — the product override takes priority over the category.
Per-product settings
Open a product for editing. The Age Verification box appears in the sidebar.
Require age verification to purchase this product — tick this to add a product-level gate. This is the main control when scope is set to Selected products & categories.
Minimum age override — optionally enter a different minimum age for this product only. Leave empty to inherit from the category or store default.
Status badge
The meta box shows a badge with the product's current state:

| Store-wide (N+) | All products gated; this product uses the store-wide default age |
| Via category (N+) | Gated because it belongs to a gated category |
| Override (N+) | A product-level age override is active |
| Gated (N+) | Product is explicitly marked for age verification |
| Not gated | No age requirement on this product |
Per-category settings
Go to Products → Categories and edit (or create) a category.
Require age verification for all products in this category — tick this to require age verification for every product in the category.
Minimum age for this category — optionally set a minimum age specific to this category. Leave empty to fall back to the store-wide default.
When a product belongs to multiple gated categories, the highest age across all of them is used.
Bulk category gating via settings
When Scope is set to Selected products & categories, a category grid is shown in the Aldersverificering settings under the Scope section. Ticking a category there is equivalent to enabling age verification on the category's edit screen.
The category grid in settings shows up to 200 categories. For stores with more categories, use the individual category edit screens directly.
Products list column
The Products → All Products list includes an Age gate column showing a status badge for every product at a glance. Use this to quickly spot products that are not gated when they should be.
